What an Academic Autopsy Piece Looks Like (Sample Article)
Placeholder content demonstrating the Academic Autopsy template — not a real analysis, no real claims or sources.
Sample content. This article exists to demonstrate the template — swap
it for a real piece before launch. See src/content/articles/README.md.
An Academic Autopsy piece takes one piece of neutral-looking language — a policy phrase, a statistic, a bureaucratic category — and cuts it open to show what it hides.
Structure this series tends to use
- Name the phrase or convention under inspection.
- Show where it shows up and who uses it.
- Trace what it assumes, and what it lets the reader skip past without noticing.
- Show what changes when the missing piece is restored.
A note on sourcing
Every real piece in this series needs actual citations and traceable sources — this sample deliberately has none, because it isn’t a real piece. Replace it before launch.
